How To Make Extra Money On The Side Nz
Side job, or How to Make Money on the Side
Like so many of us, I want to acquire more money to one day own property. I've already disregarded Sky and coffee's, but for some reason I am still unable to get onto the housing ladder (weird, right?). I'm currently working 37 hours a week, and am saving about 1/3 of what I make, but I really want to up that to about 1/2.
I was looking at several different jobs on TradeMe, but none really work around my current 9 to 5. Any one got any good legal ideas on how to get the cream?

37 hours? Add another 20 and you'll be fine.

Freelance doing something. During a particularly broke phase I'd do anything no matter now menial, because a night working for shitty money was not a night spending money. Or get a job in a bar.

I do air conditioning work after hours to supplement my office job. Trades are really good.

That sounds super interesting. How'd you get into that?

Hubby traps possums. We also take cuttings/sell natives and vege plants. Also looking at getting into knitting and selling them on Facebook. My brother has a sweet deal doing underfloor insulation.
Can you do your "real job" outside of work?

How much are possums worth??

Trap and skin possums, sell the fur

I sell vintage and fat girl clothes online (FB groups, TM) which is a decent side hustle.

If you don't mind risking some of your capital you could try trading/flipping. I buy from local auctions and sell on trademe. Also you can buy bulk lots on trademe and sell the items individually. Sometimes I buy poorly listed items off trademe and relist them with good description and pics for profit. Buying damaged items and repairing. How you work it depends on your knowledge of product catergorys. you probubly already know a bit about the value of some stuff, cars, electronics, tools, clothes if you do your research and have some capital there's money to be made.

Have heard this works well with 1-day and Aliexpress items.

I sell artwork/jewellery and t-shirts via 3rd party sites.

Tutoring! Upwards of $35 cash an hour. Whether you pay tax on that is up to you

Low barriers to entry in a few areas (if you're experienced of course):
-
Mowing lawns/gardening (advertise on Facebook)
-
Fixing iPhones (easy enough to learn online, pretty risky if you make a mistake though)
-
Tutoring of some sort
-
Uber???
Good luck

Ooh I just thought of another one. If anyone is still reading this thread. Join Prime Research's panel. Google or look them up on Facebook. It's just market research, they don't try to sell you anything, just want opinions on new or existing consumer products (generally), and absurdly good cash "incentives" for taking part (if you get selected, which is easy enough). Like, $80 for a 45 min interview kind of thing.
level 2
Boom. That's what I'm talking about

Do you have a skill you can teach? Eg charge people to learn to sail, play guitar or whatever

I used to do a bit of promo / acrobatics work. That's good money. Too old/fat now
Oh and get in touch with a Market Research company. I once got paid $100 to taste beer, $50 for yogurt and $100 for juice

Buy an ounce of weed and some tin foil. Divvy up the weed into tinnies and sell for $25 each. Make enough tinnies to make back the money used to pay for the ounce plus a little extra profit. Rinse and repeat.
Edit: I just saw you asked for legal. Sorry can't help. Maybe if your in the bigger centers you could become an uber driver?
